Installation

  1. Create the Section File

    In your Shopify Admin go to Online Store → Themes → Edit code. Under Sections, click Add a new section and name it exactly:

    sections/journal-footer.liquid

  2. Paste the Source Code

    Delete all placeholder code in the new file. Paste the complete plugin source code and click Save.

  3. Replace or Hide the Default Footer

    You have two options. Option A — hide the default footer directly in the Theme Editor by clicking the eye icon next to it in the left sidebar. No files need to be modified. Option B — open your theme's layout/theme.liquid file, locate the existing footer section include and replace it with:

  4. Configure in Theme Editor

    Open Customize. Select the Journal Footer section in the sidebar. Configure columns, colors, social links, newsletter, and localization options.

  5. Add Navigation Menus

    In Online Store → Navigation, create menus for each footer column (e.g. footer-about, footer-shop) and link them in the section settings.

The Journal Footer replaces the theme's default footer section. Always test on a duplicate theme before publishing to your live store.
